Celebrating Over 80 Years of Skiing and Lifelong Friendships
March 16, 2022 Vol. XV, #20
Bernie Bovee's memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Bernie holds the honor of being the original Bad Boy of Caberfae. During the late 1930s, while Caberfae was still a dream and the Civilian Conservation Corp. was still clearing the hills to create the early runs, Bernie hitchhiked out from Cadillac with his new hickory snow skies which he had received for Christmas. He climbed to the top and surveyed the scenery for the most daring run, strapped on his skis and before he got to the bottom, broke one of his new skies when he hit a tree. (Way cooler than a cafeteria tray, Bernie). Please join his wife, Vlasta, for Bernie's memorial service at the Harrietta Methodist Church on April 23, 2022, at 11 a.m.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Caberfae Ski Club following the service.
