New Member Night is This Saturday

This Saturday, January 14th is New Member Night. The celebrations begin at Happy Hour where Dean Polk, One-Man-Band, will entertain from 4:00 – 7:00. At 6:00 a steak dinner will be served. New members from this season and the past two seasons get a free meal. Everyone who plans to have dinner needs to sign up. You can do this by emailing Sue at caberfaeskiclub@yahoo.com or by signing the sheets in the rest room hall. Please plan to come and welcome our new members!

Nominations Now Being Taken for the Ski Club Board

If you are interested in serving the club by becoming a board member, please contact a member of the nominating committee: Julie Chesney or Keenan Cooper. You can also express your interest by emailing cabaerfaeskiclub@caberfaeskiclub.org and we will put you in touch with one of them. The board meets one or two times a month to make decisions about club upkeep, finances, social events, projects, and more. In the last few years meetings have been done on Zoom, usually on a week day evening. Board members are also active at many club events. Members serve a 4-year term. Each year two new members are selected. Any board member will be happy to tell you more about the position.

Keep Your Email Address Updated

The club is using email as the main way to communicate with members. You are billed by email, you receive this newsletter by email, and soon, you will be voting by email. So please make sure that we have correct addresses. Also, family memberships need to supply us with two email addresses if you are going to take advantage of your two votes for board elections.

Yes, You Can Use the Firepits and Heaters

The club has a gas fire pit and two pyramid heaters located on the south side of the building. These heaters are available for any adult member to use. Simply uncover them and follow the instructions printed on the units. You can find more detailed directions on the bulletin board inside the front entry. This is also where you’ll find the key needed to start the firepit and a key to the chest with extra propane.

Additionally, there are two propane heaters on the upstairs deck and a fire ring and a good supply of firewood in front of the club. Adult members are welcomed to use these facilities. But please--

· An adult should always be present when heaters or fire are in use.

· When you are finished, turn off the gas heaters and firepit at both the switch and the propane tank.

· Make sure a wood fire is extinguished before leaving it.

Glenn Stout is looking for volunteers to help with a disco party for the club kids. For more information, or if you’re willing to help, contact Glenn by text or email. (616-636-5942 or gdstout1379@gmail.com)

Bartending this Weekend

On Friday night, bartenders are Katie an Eric Sturgeon. Saturday, Tom and Jacqueline Winquist and Doug and Sheri Frye will be serving drinks for the New Member Party. Thank you!
