Celebrating over 80 Years of Skiing and Lifelong Friendships
October 9, 2020 Vol. XIV, #3
A letter from the CSC Board of Directors.
At the top of everyone’s mind is, “What will the clubhouse look like this season in this world of COVID-19? Please know your board has been working hard to develop best practices to try and keep everyone safe.
Things will look and operate differently. Just like the outside world, we will follow the reopening rules for COVID. We are working diligently on a Preparedness and Response Plan. Most of you know the highlights. Among other things, it means face coverings, at all times, when you’re in the building, unless you are seated, eating or drinking. Building capacity will be held to 50% and members will be expected to social distance, just to mention a few.
Some of the other changes you’ll see involve food and bar service. The bar in the Stag’s Head Lounge will be open during posted hours and will include a bar server. There won’t be any self-service behind the bar, nor any volunteer bartenders this season. Self-serve food items will be gone, as well. Members must be seated while in the dining room and on the entire second floor. Again, capacity will be held at 50%.
The good news is we’re looking at options to offset some of the restrictions. We are pursuing an extension to our liquor license so we could serve in designated outdoor areas. In addition, Sue is working hard on food ordering options like pre-order. More to come as we work through the details. The upside is some of these changes may serve us well in the future.
The floor plan will look a little different, too. Unfortunately, we’ll have to put the children’s toys away for a while and repurpose that area for additional seating and gear storage. The restrooms will also have capacity restrictions. The house committee is rearranging furniture and designing flow so we meet the requirements.
We all want to keep the club safe and open for the season, so this will take your help, as well. We need all our members to act responsibly and follow the rules. No one likes restrictions, but if we do this right, we should be able to safely enjoy our special home.
Your suggestions and comments are always welcome. Please feel free to use this email address ptsh002@gmail.com to send your thoughts to all board members.
Keep a positive outlook and hopefully we’ll see each other soon.
