Celebrating 80 Years of Skiing and Lifelong Friendships
December 17, 2019 Vol. XIII, #8
Let the 80th season officially begin! The clubhouse is ready, The freezers are stocked with food, and the coolers are filled to the brim. Sue and the kitchen elves are warming up the grill and gearing up for two weeks of great fun with new and old friends. All we need is YOU!
WHAT'S GOING ON DURING THE NEXT TWO WEEKS?
Let's start with a definition. "Clubhouse is open." This means the barn door is open and you can navigate the dining room and climb to the Stag's Head Lounge. It does NOT assume the kitchen nor the Stag's Head Lounge is serving. "Clubhouse is closed." This means the barn door is closed and there is no access to the dining room or the Stag's Head Lounge. The rest of the clubhouse is always available to those who have not yet lost their key to the parking lot door. Generally speaking, the parking lot door is open until the slopes close. If you'd like a replacement key ... and are willing to admit that you were, in fact, issued a key ... and you have lost, said key, you may contact Norma Roelfsema, club secretary/treasurer. Be prepared to grovel. roelfsen@gmail.com
Click here https://caberfaepeaks.com/home/hours/ to see the when the slopes are open.
Beginning this Friday the clubhouse opens at 9:30 a.m. through Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve the clubhouse closes at 2 p.m. The barn door gets pulled closing off the dining room and Stag's Head Lounge.
Christmas Day the clubhouse is closed, but the slopes open at 1 p.m.
Beginning December 26th the Clubhouse opens at 8:30 a.m. with slopes opening at 10 a.m.
Ticket Elf (the nice kind that won't grab your cinnamon roll) will be in residence any day the clubhouse is open. The elf stumbles in behind Sue in the morning, and goes back to bed at 11:15 a.m. Yeah, I know ... Union rules. Pretty good gig, if you can get it. Gotta have pointy ears.
You can count on the kitchen being open until 3 p.m. unless the joint is dead.
12/26 NEW MEMBER MEET & GREET PIZZA PARTY 5 p.m. Newbies and oldbiew are welcome to come and learn the written and unwritten rules ... along with the secret handshake. For example: learn how to jump right to the top of the parking top list.
12/31 NEW YEAR'S EVE POTLUCK & FESTIVITIES! Plans are now coming together to bring in 2020 at the Caberfae Ski Club! Volunteer bartenders for the evening have kindly/eagerly signed up and will be ready to serve starting at 5 pm. The evening's music entertainment has been arranged and will start at 8 pm. Music will be provided by "Music by Randy." Surprise! There may be some intermittent games during the evening. Sign up is simple.
