2. THE ANNUAL MEETING briefly interrupted the Annual Meeting Rave hosted by the ever-popular Caberfae Ski Chicks.
As usual, the CSC Chicks pack the house. But then just as the house got a rockin they closed the bar and turned over the festivities to President Ron Kimball. Fortunately the ladies had spiked their libations with No-Doz so everyone sat in spellbound rapture listening to the financial mumbo jumbo during the Annual Meeting.
Oh, by the way, the revised By Laws passed with no deserting votes. Boy, Washington could take a lesson from the CSC. A huge thank you to all who had a finger in this pie. After four years of hard work and calm voices (seriously) the club has a guiding document to guide us to the future.
The mood change when Pete and Tim Meyer delivered their annual State of the Peaks address. They delighted the crowd with highlights of some significant improvements skiers can look forward to next season. While they received several ovations for all their hard work, Tim decided to spare the crowd his 90 minute PowerPoint presentation on the finer points of snow making.
In other big news, the election results revealed Brian Nyland and Ron Kimball were elected to three year terms to the Board of Directors. A sincere, Caberfae Ski Club Thank You to Hugh Potter and Joe Masvero for tossing your names into the ring.
Earlier in the afternoon at the Board of Directors meeting Pat Bourassa was elected president; Mary Jane Dewey-Canfield, first vice president; Paul Waug, second vice president; and Ron Kimball, as immediate past president.
After additional revelry following the Annual Meeting the Grill Team dazzled and amazed the crowd by delivering perfectly grilled steaks as the center piece of the meal. Sue and staff did all the fixings while Carol Lee and Lou Kimball added their magic touches turning the Clubhouse Grill into the Aspen of the Midwest. A Special CSC Thank YOU all.
Following dinner the harem of Chicks again helped us burn the candle at both ends. Their antics certainly keep the lift lines thinned for those aiming to ski the milk run early Sunday morning.
3. A MEXICAN POTLUCK is planned for Saturday evening at 6:00 PM. Light up your favorite Mexican dish and let’s see what we can set something on fire. The hot sauce contest is ON! May the skier with the strongest stomach win. I remember hearing at the fraternity house that Tequila shots temper the heat of a spicy dish … although that may have been of the sorority sort.
4. WHAT’S COMING UP THE WEEKEND OF 3/14: Dust off your Spring Carnival costumes and join the fun both on and off the slopes. On Saturday, in the Stag's Head Lounge, there will be live entertainment by "Flipside."
