The ANNUAL MEETING was called to order last Saturday afternoon by President Matt VanAlst.  Dave Reiser delivered a riveting financial report with no surprises.  Prior to the Annual Meeting the board of directors elected Jeff Tayler, President (in absentia… that’ll teach him); Jeff Demek, First VP, and Paul Waug, Second VP.  The now Past President VanAlst announced the results for the newly elected board members and welcomed Elisha Koenig and Joe Masvero to the board.  First VP Demek read a statement from President Jeff Tayler explaining his absence and commitment to his new position.  A special thank you and ovation was extended to Lynne Riehl and Kim Walters for running excellent campaigns and for their willingness to serve the club. Out going board member Jim Sturm was recognized for his years of service on the board.  In addition, Waddy Pottoff and Kim Walters were recognized by the membership for their continued service in tending to the operations of the bar.

Caberfae Ski Club Members,

It's beginning to look a lot like ski season! Caberfae has fired up the snow guns and the nip is in the air. That's a sure sign that a great year of skiing and Ski Club camaraderie is about start.

Thanks to the leadership of Paul Waug and many volunteers we had two successful Work Bees during the off season, the Club is in great shape. The bike ride sponsored by the Demeks and the Golf outing run by Ron and Lou Kimball were both very successful. Also the Michigan Adventure outing organized by Paul Waug was great. Thanks to all who organized and attended these great summer events.

As we leave the recently completed Thanksgiving holiday season we are reminded that we have a lot to be thankful for at the Club. We have a full membership roster (plus a waiting list) and it's only a matter of a few weeks before we renew acquaintances and wax up the boards!

We're also thankful for motivated volunteers like Joe Host who installed lockers in the new warm locker room and Pat Goggin and Mike Cool for the beautiful "barn door" installed between the kitchen and round room. This door allows members to use the round room when the Club is closed. For obvious safety reasons the fireplace won't be available for use when the Club isn't fully open and staffed. Also thanks to the many other members who also donated their time to improve the Club this summer.

Additionally, there is an updated parking policy that will be posted. We understand the desire and would like to offer parking privileges to all members but unfortunately the land locked nature of our property doesn't make it possible.

As we head towards the ski season we wanted to share a couple of reminders and notes with you. First, we're excited to again be offering our New Year's Eve dinner/dance this year. Sue and her top notch staff will serve up the usual great cuisine and Mark Proux will provide the musical entertainment. See the enclosed flyer for reservation info.

Secondly, look for a survey coming your way soon. The board would like to get your feedback on Club operations and thoughts on capital spending priorities for the future.

Lastly on behalf of the Ski Club Board, Marty Manley (Secretary / Treasurer) and Sue Egelus (Club Manager) we wish you a great holiday season!
